Over the last couple of weeks I have seen several things about the lovely interwebs that pertain to the writing. All of it is fantastic advice and it can be applied to all types of writing and so I thought that the SCC writers here may find what they have to say very useful.
Firstly a link from James Moran's blog. I have linked this writing FAQ in my own blog, and it is extremely honest and he does not wrap anything in cotton wool.

Next we have a link from Tony Lee which again does not beat around the bush about the realities of writing for comics and I found it very useful, it even tells you how you should treat your editors, so here it is for you all.

Also this is big big news. There is a comic convention in Leeds in November, and this year they are asking for academic papers on comics and the media. This is a fantastic opportunity for any writers out there who are also academics. Also if any of us could actually get along to it in November then I think it will really be worth it. I will put the link up here so that people can look at the website and check out the convention itself as well as the academic side. This is the first time that I have seen anything like this at a convention.

So there you have it from writing FAQ to comics being the main feature of an academic conference. It's all happening. Don't forget to check back here regularly for more news on writing, artistry, comics and what the lovely people here at the SCC are doing at the moment. If you would actually like to come and see what we do, then we will be at Swansea Museum in August (19th, 22nd, 26th, and 29th.) holdng informal workshops about comic creation, and it would be fantastic to see you all there. ^_^
Until next time
