5 Minute Modok Madness

With our first comic finished and the various workshops completed we thought it was time to contribute to two of our favourite sites, 5 Minute Marvels and March Modok Madness. 5 Minute Marvels is an awesome site that encourages you to sit down for five minutes with family or friends and draw while chatting. Another gloriously simple idea which is so easy to do and so much fun.

So at the last meeting we decided to give the quickfire sketches a go. When it came to choosing the character to draw, this brought another site to mind. March Modok Madness is a site that for one month every year accepts submissions of that monstrous Marvel malefactor, Modok!

So 5 Minute Marvels and March Modok Madness, we at the SCC salute you! Thanks for all the hard work you obviously put into your sites and long may you continue. Hope you enjoy our 5 minute Modoks.

All of these were produced at our workshops, held at Swansea Museum in February to commemerate the 70th anniversary of the Swansea Blitz. In the case of the Elaine Kidwell strip, all three were written at the event and all but the third episode was pencilled there.

And with these I have finally caught up from my blart backlog, I will try and get all future blarts posted as they come in.

CICE Comic Workshop

Here's the pics we took at the Creating Comics workshop, the Swansea Comics Collective ran at the CICE (Cardiff International Comics Expo) in February. We were so busy we ran out of chairs at one point.
We had an amazing bunch of kids (of all ages) arrive and some awesome comics created. Thanks to everyone who came.
